bjprowler	When I was a child in the 50's we rarely ever had Coca Cola in our home simply because it was not a "necessity" and at 5 cents per bottle it was something that we could do without.... But every year around a week before Christmas my dad would bring home a wooden crate of 24 little 8 oz glass bottles of Coca Cola and each of us kids could have ONE PER DAY... We were in heaven! So,.... every year about this time, I get to thinking about how delicious that tasted to a little boy (me) and I go to the store where today, just like 60+ years ago, they sell the 8 oz GLASS bottles of Coca Cola in 6 pack cartons....(the crates are antiques and very collectable) I bring it home, get it ICE COLD and during the days before Christmas I drink one bottle each day....It still fizzes and tickles my nose and brings back loving memories of my wonderful dad who never forgot to bring us that "special" treat during Christmas.... Got a Christmas story to share?

Tomcal	On Christmas Eve as I laid awake waiting for Santa to delivery Christmas presents, thinking if Santa would remember my wish. Come morning and what to my wondering eyes would appeared, a New Lionel Train to add to my growing set. Always wondered how Santa knew. Now my wish to Santa this Christmas is: PS... already bought and wrapped by Santa's elves.
padroo	I was on a sugar high around Christmas, mom made popcorn ball and homemade fudge. We never had Coke in the house until we moved into our new house and dad bought a new refrigerator. A case of Coke came with the purchase.
bjprowler	Wow!....Thanks for the reminder, Dale.... My Mom ALWAYS made homemade fudge from the recipe on the back of Hershey's Cocoa cans at Christmas time.... It tastes better than ANY "store bought" stuff and we kids always got to scrape the sides and bottom of the pot she cooked it in after she was finished... Here's a link with the recipe but be sure to READ THE REVIEWS for helpful hints.....It just has a few ingredients but it is SUPER DIFFICULT for beginners...Takes a lot of practice to perfect it but it is SO worth it! Randy Cobb	Christmas Eve dinners with all my Dad's family at Granddaddy and Granny's house. Men would gather around a fire and sip a little moonshine. Men would let the boys have a taste if we promised to not let "the women folk know". Of course they knew. Kids would get sparklers. Baked chicken dinner and then would open presents.
BeWare	Christmas Day driving out to Grandmas house in the country to celebrate with all my Aunts. Uncles and Cousins.

Drew	As a little kid of the 60s, it's the aluminum Christmas tree that takes me right back to the best times of being a young'un. Our tree rotated, had blue bulbs only and the rotating color wheel. The anticipation of what Santa was bringing while lying in bed watching the hallway turn colors till I fell asleep was simply the best. Christmas morning we weren't aloud down the hall to see the tree and presents till all the adults were up, I don't remember ever braking that rule.
padroo	It's funny how some things stick in your mind. One sunny Christmas day there was one of those glass shake up snow globes in my dads living room window. Someone said I smell something burning. That globe acted like a magnifier and burn a hole in the curtain. The house could have burnt down.
ALLEY CAT	. . My Father bought this tree and rotating color changer,,,my Mother put up with it for two years....and then said "this thing MUST GO!" . . . I heard from Mr.Ed that Taco Bell still uses his aluminum tensile tree still to this day, lol
ed monahan	Those aluminum trees are probably collector's items and worth money nowadays. Nostalgia sells.
